November 2009 Lecture on Business Chinese Instruction
On November 12th, Dr. Hong Liu held a lecture on Business Chinese teaching in Mandarin House. Dr. Liu is a specially appointed member of the Business Chinese Test group and lectures at the Foreign Language Institute of the East China Normal University.
Starting from the BCT test, and continuing to the purpose of teaching Business Chinese, Dr. Liu explained strengths and weaknesses of the various types of teaching materials and teaching methods, and the way to improve Business Chinese teaching. He then summarized the principles and methods of teaching business Chinese.
In the two-hour lecture, our teachers actively discussed issues involving teaching of Business Chinese. Through the lecture our
teachers not only got a macro understanding of Business Chinese teaching, but also benefited from learning specific teaching methods.
